2024 NEAT Nostalgia Contest!

On Saturday and Sunday at the noon time demos, an informal contest will be held to judge the best nostalgia electric model at the 2024 show. Below are the rules.
All models must have been originally designed as an electric model (no glow conversions).

The model must have been designed and published in a trade magazine, kitted or plans made available commercially before Sept of 2000.

Models do not have to be built before Sept 2000. They may be newly built as long as they meet the above criteria.

Models may be flown with any electric power system, but bonus points will be awarded for use of brushed motors and NiCd or NiMH cells.

Models do not have to fly at the show (or at the noon demos), but proof of a previous flight must be presented (in-air photograph or testified by a witness).

Models shall be brought to show center no later than 12:30pm on Friday and Saturday for judging.

For those who wish to fly their models at the noon demo, time will be allotted for as many as can be accommodated. Some models may asked to be flown at the same time.

Entrants should download and fill out the form (link below) and bring it with them to show center no later than 12:30PM on Friday and/or Saturday. Modelers may enter more than one model, but only the highest scoring model will be eligible for one of three places/prizes. The form will also be made available at the HQ tent beginning Thursday of the show. ARF's may be entered as long as they meet the above criteria, but a significant reduction in craftsmanship points will be made in the scoring.
Points award schedule:
100 point max for craftsmanship
20 extra points for use of a brush motor
20 extra points for use of NiCd or NiMh round cells.
5 extra points for 72mh radio systems (must still be working!)
